14k Gold 'Cross of Scriptures' Necklace | Clonmacnoiose Celtic / Irish Cross Pendant

Known as the 'Cross of Scriptures', this pendant is a two-sided, exact replica of the famous cross which stands in Clonmacnoise, Offaly, Ireland (see second image). The original stone cross dates back to the beginning of the Viking age. 

One legend is that St. Patrick designed this symbol as a combination of the pagan sun cross symbol and the cross of Christianity to help bring the two groups together. Others believe the circle simply represented eternity. Today the Celtic Cross symbol has become well known as a symbol of Celtic heritage.

Materials: 14k Gold. Two-sided. Handmade in Ireland and hallmarked in Dublin Castle.
Necklace: Gold plated stainless steel chain, with clasp.
